Our Story

Founder William J. ‘Bill’ Bromet registered his company in 1936 as a leather trading firm and producer of athletic football shoes. A visionary in business, Bill leveraged his many international contacts to navigate the challenges of trading and connecting foreign ports with Suriname. Initially using schooners and later transitioning to liner agents, the shipping department of the company was born.

Today, the third generation of the Bromet family continues this proud legacy, actively maintaining and expanding the H. Bromet Shipping Agency brand. With decades of experience and a commitment to excellence, the agency remains a key player in the shipping industry, honoring its history while embracing the future.
